Video Postcards

WASHINGTON, DC __ I'm in Washington DC this week visiting friends and reintroducing myself to a city I used to know and love. I'm also making good use of this vacation time by reflecting upon my recent professional tour of Turkey.

Now, if you've been following this blog, you probably noticed that I've been posting still photographs to my Flickr page; I've also been experimenting with a video technique I call "Video Postcarding."

The idea is very simple: Postcards are simple little notes, which are very visually rich; their purpose, really, is to tell family, friends and colleagues that you're on some great adventure and that you're thinking of them. Keeping with that mission, I've been applying those ideas to these video missives. I typically take raw video and marry it to a slide show of still photographs; the purpose is to illustrate historic, artistic and cultural visits as I move through a city or a region.
